There is no doubt that the recent cases of electric scooters catching fire recently have slowed the adoption of electric vehicles to some extent. In fact, Vinkesh Gulati, President of the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations, highlighted concerns about the safety of these vehicles in a May 2022 report, in which he said: “As two-way electric vehicle sales wheels were rising rapidly, although on a low base, various fires in almost every brand of electric vehicle created fear in the mind of the customer. This, coupled with supply chain issues, has significantly reduced sales of two-wheeled electric vehicles compared to last month.
